Dental Implants Replacing Several missing or failing Teeth

Implant Dentistry & Failing Teeth
If you have more than one natural tooth missing, dental implants can be used to support an implant retained bridge. This type of dental restoration is extremely secure, lifelike and does not require the preparation of your existing natural teeth. When replacing several, the same rules apply as for single teeth. However because dental implants can be joined or splinted together with bridges, it is not necessary to replace each tooth with an individual dental implant. Guidelines for the upper and lower jaws are slightly different.
Maxilla ; In the upper jaw, the bone is less dense and therefore generally more dental implants are required. In addition the natural teeth are angled outwards and therefore require more support. For an implant retained bridge, your Implant Dentist uses between six and eight implants.
Mandible ; In the lower jaw , in order to replace the missing teeth , the Implant dentist utilizes, Ideally one implant for every other missing tooth. As a general rule, the greater the number of implants placed, the more fixed and natural the teeth will look.
Implant-supported full Bridge (fixed)
If all your lower or upper teeth are missing, a permanent full bridge may be attached directly to the dental implants (subject to the quality and quantity of the existing bone).
The number of implants is determined by the specific requirements of each case.
Dental implants are positioned just below the gum tissue and given time to fuse with the bone. Temporary attachments (abutments) may be placed on the implants until the healing phase is complete.
Your existing denture may be modified so that it can be worn without disturbing the implants during the healing process. After the transitional phase you will be fitted with a custom bridge that screws directly into the dental implants.
Your new teeth are firmly supported by the jaw, stimulating it and halting the bone loss.

Denture Implant (removable)
Are your current dentures loose and uncomfortable? Do they move about when you talk and eat? Do you find them embarrassing? Have you lost confidence due to problems with your dentures?
Dental implant supported denture (Denture Implant) may be the answer for you. The placement of dental implants into your residual jawbone can help to stabilise loose dentures, converting them into secure ,comfortable dentures which work well for you - making eating straightforward and giving you confidence in your day-to-day activities.
Denture Implant mostly is made for the lower jaw because regular dentures tend to be less stable there. Usually, a regular denture made to fit an upper jaw is quite stable on its own and doesn't need the extra support offered by Dental implants. However, you can receive a denture implant in either the upper or lower jaw. You can easily remove your denture implant for regular cleaningan . There are a variety of attachments that can be used on the implants to help secure the denture.
- Bar-retained denture implant ; A thin metal bar that follows the curve of your jaw is attached to two to five implants that have been placed in your jawbone. The denture fits over the bar and is securely clipped into place by the attachments.
- Ball-retained denture implant ; Each implant that has been placed in the jawbone holds a metal attachment that fits into another attachment on the denture. In most cases, the attachments on the Dental implants are ball-shaped and they fit into sockets on the denture.
